I've been slowly re-ordering my kitchen. Old chipped plates are now doubling up a bases for plant pots, and I've got in a new set of china for eating dinner off.
I've also started dumping my plastic containers and am slowly replacing them with Glass Food Storage Containers. It turns out that plastic containers react with fatty food when heated in the microwave - which means that whenever we've heated stews or anything with meat in it, we've been injesting plastic compounds too. Not a nice thought at all.
I have considered buying Anchor Hocking Storage Containers, as they too are oven friendly, but the "vintage" look is putting me off a bit. I know Martha Stewart praises the 1930's style Anchor Hocking ware to the skies - but I prefer the clean lines of the Pyrexware. Pyrex looks modern and neat, and fits the look of my kitchen better.
Next up is up-grading my cutlery, I have so many forks with bent prongs it's getting embarassing. Finally I still need a new tea/coffee set. Maybe for Christmas.
